KDP President Masoud Barzani casts vote in Kurdistan Parliamentary Elections

Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani cast his ballot at a polling station in Pirmam on Sunday, for the sixth Kurdistan parliamentary elections.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani cast his ballot at a polling station in Pirmam on Sunday, for the sixth Kurdistan parliamentary elections.

The general voting commenced at 7:00 AM across the region, with 2,686,578 eligible voters distributed across four electoral districts:

- Erbil: 933,115 voters

- Sulaimani: 1,008,412 voters

- Duhok: 682,791 voters

- Halabja: 59,300 voters

The Independent High Electoral Commission of Iraq has established 1,266 polling centers and 6,318 voting stations:

- Erbil: 498 centers, 2,213 stations

- Sulaimani: 477 centers, 2,373 stations

- Duhok: 264 centers, 1,596 stations

- Halabja: 27 centers, 136 stations

A total of 1,191 candidates are competing for 100 parliamentary seats. The special voting held on October 18 recorded a 97 percent turnout rate, according to the Electoral Commission.
