ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region Government, Masrour Barzani announced a plan with title “Lighting Project”, which aims to provide electricity 24/7, to the entire Kurdistan Region.
It was during his visit to Shadi area in Erbil on Thursday afternoon, October 17th, 2024, which that area was the first test accomplished successfully.
The Premier also stated “beside Shadi area, which was proposed as the first neighborhood in Erbil as a test stage for the project, the second phase, is for entire region, to implement the project,”
Naznaz is another neighborhood area in Erbil, like Shadi, has started to have the electricity 24/7, and Bakhtiari will soon joi the plan.
Shadi Area: About 26,000 residents live in, there are 5700 houses and 2.200 businesses locations. It has electricity 24/7.
Naznaz: Around 8.000 residents live over there, 1.700 houses, as well as 400 shop and businesses places. It has electricity 24/7.
Bakhtiari: Which soon the 24/7 electricity service will be available, it has almost 19.000 residents live down there, there are 4.100 houses, as well as 800 shops and businesses.
