ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with British Ambassador to Iraq Stephen Hitchen in Dohuk on Friday, focusing primarily on preparations for forming the new KRG cabinet.

During the meeting, both parties agreed on the importance of establishing a unified and inclusive government that would begin its work promptly and serve all citizens of the Kurdistan Region without discrimination.

The discussions emphasized several key points:
- The critical need to secure salaries and financial entitlements for public servants
- The protection of the Kurdistan Region's constitutional rights
- Ways to enhance bilateral relations across various sectors

This high-level meeting comes in the wake of recent parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region, where the formation of a new government is a top priority.

The discussion about financial entitlements is particularly significant given the ongoing negotiations between Erbil and Baghdad regarding budget allocations and oil revenue sharing.

The meeting also underscores the continued diplomatic engagement between the Kurdistan Region and the United Kingdom in supporting democratic governance and regional stability.
