ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - The Iraqi Parliament's Media Office has announced the schedule for its upcoming session on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024, set to begin at 11:00 AM.

According to the session's agenda, the Parliament will conduct its first reading of the budget amendment bill for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025 as its primary order of business. The Finance Committee will present its report during this discussion.

The session will also include a second reading of amendments to the Civil Defense Law, alongside a vote on the air transport coordination agreement between Russia and Iraq.

Another significant item on the agenda is the first reading of the Iraqi Civil Aviation Law.

The Iraqi Parliament regularly reviews and amends its federal budget to address changing economic conditions and national needs. The current multi-year budget, spanning 2023-2025, was initially approved in June 2023 and marked Iraq's first three-year budget in its modern history.

The budget amendments typically reflect adjustments needed to accommodate new financial developments, economic challenges, or emerging national priorities.

The Parliament's focus on civil aviation and transportation agreements also underscores Iraq's ongoing efforts to modernize its infrastructure and strengthen international partnerships in the aviation sector.
