Erbil International Airport's Director General, Ahmed Hoshiar, announced to Kurdistan24 on Sunday, December 8, 2024, the indefinite suspension of all flights between Erbil and Damascus due to the closure of Damascus International Airport.

Speaking about the operational disruption, Hoshiar confirmed that the flight suspension will remain in effect "until further notice" due to the ongoing situation in Syria.

This development comes amid significant political changes in Syria, where opposition forces reportedly entered Damascus earlier today, effectively ending President Bashar al-Assad's 24-year rule. President Assad's current whereabouts remain unknown.

Note: As my knowledge cutoff is April 2024, I cannot independently verify these recent developments. For the most current information regarding flight operations and regional developments, please consult official authorities or reliable news sources.
