KDP, PUK delegation meet to discuss government formation

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The high-level delegates from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) arrived in Pirmam to meet with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) on Tuesday, marking their second important negotiation since the sixth parliamentary elections.

The KDP delegation included Dilshad Shahab, Hosyar Zebari, Omed Sabah, and Pshtwan Sadiq. The PUK delegation consisted of Qubad Talabani, Derbaz Kosrat, Rewas Faiq, and Amanj Rahim.

Dilshad Shahab, a member of the KDP negotiation team, told Kurdistan24 that the meeting's primary objectives are to:

- Discuss the formation of the tenth Kurdistan Regional Government cabinet

- Explore recent developments in Syria and the wider regional context

This meeting follows their preliminary discussions on Dec. 30th in Dabashan, which both sides previously described as "positive."

The ongoing negotiations underline the serious importance of bipartisan cooperation in establishing a stable and representative regional government.
