U.S. bipartisan warning against attacking northeast in Syria
U.S. has already been successful with brokering a ceasefire between the Turkish-backed forces and SDF.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – In a partisan joint statement announced, on Tuesday, December 17th, 2024, by both U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen, threatening Turkey of imposing sanctions, in their proposed bill.
The threatening of the sanctions against Turkey followed the Turkish attack occurred on the northeast of Syria (Rojava) where there is Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), according to their joint statement "if Turkey does not declare a ceasefire with the Kurds and accept the proposal for a demilitarized zone, the bill will go through".
U.S. has already been successful with brokering a ceasefire between the Turkish-backed forces and SDF.

According to the media outlet in the United States of America, many members of Congress believe not to abandon the Kurds who have been strong partner to the US against ISIS.
The statement included "this week we will prepare a bill to impose sanctions on Turkey if Ankara does not announce a US ceasefire proposal with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and its commander Mazlum Abdi,"
Senators Chris van Hollen posted the joint statement with Sen. Graham and wrote the following message:
Attacks from Turkish-backed forces on our Syrian Kurdish partners undermine regional security & efforts to prevent an ISIS resurgence. Turkey must accept a ceasefire & demilitarized zone or we’ll move forward with bipartisan sanctions legislation.
