In some areas in Kurdistan Region temperature drops at night, below -5°C

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The two licensed authorities monitor the weather changes in both Kurdistan Region and Iraq are the Kurdistan Region Meteorology Department and Iraqi Meteorological Authority, they advise citizens about the sudden changes in the weather, cold waves in winter season, and usually they broadcast the weather details on daily basis. 

According to the statement announced by the General Authority of Meteorology and Seismology, Meteorological Forecasting Department, on Thursday and tomorrow, Friday, the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy with thunderstorms starting from the western parts in the mid and south of the state.

Temperatures are expected to rapidly decrease in the highlands, according to the Met office statement, the maximum and minimum temperatures for today and its night vary, however it is expected that Friday will be cloudy in some, and rainy in some other parts of the region.  

In Erbil the capital, the humidity is 40%, visibility remains moderate, and pressure is 1024mb, steady, Sunrise was at 07:11, Sunset is at 16:52, UV will remain Moderate.

- Sulaimani: 11-14°C

- Duhok: 10-13°C

- Kirkuk: 15°C

- Halabja: 14°C

- Zakho: 11-13°C

- Haji Omaran: 7-8°C

- Soran: 10-12°C

- Garmian: 17-18°C

The temperature is between maximum and how it feels in the above cities and towns, however, it perhaps feels different from one area to another, Thursday night is expected to be chilly, in some parts of the region, the temperature drops below 0°C
