Italian Defense Minister to visit Erbil
In a statement, the Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs revealed that "the aim of the Italian Defense Minister's visit is to inspect Italian forces, military advisors, and the country's consulate in the Kurdistan Region."

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Saturday, the Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto will make an official visit to the Kurdistan Region on, where he will be welcomed by Shorsh Ismail, the Minister of Peshmerga Affairs.
In a statement, the Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs revealed that "the aim of the Italian Defense Minister's visit is to inspect Italian forces, military advisors, and the country's consulate in the Kurdistan Region."
As per the statement, the Italian Defense Minister "will hold several meetings with senior Kurdistan Region officials."
The minister's last visit to the Kurdistan Region was on May 2, 2023, during which he held meetings with Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani and Kurdistan Region’s Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, and inspected his country's military forces and advisors.
Italy is a member of the international coalition against ISIS and maintains military advisors in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq who provide training to Peshmerga and Iraqi soldiers.
