Kurdistan Region President expresses condolences to victims of Baku-Grozny plane crash
“I’m deeply saddened by the tragic crash of the Azerbaijani aircraft in Kazakhstan. My thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this disaster,” the Kurdistan Region President said.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani on Wednesday in a post on the social media platform expressed his condolences to the victims of the Baku-Grozny plane crash.
“I’m deeply saddened by the tragic crash of the Azerbaijani aircraft in Kazakhstan. My thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this disaster,” the Kurdistan Region President said.
He also noted that “Kurdistan Region stands in solidarity with Azerbaijan during this difficult time.”
An Azerbaijani airliner with 67 people on board crashed Wednesday near the Kazakhstani city of Aktau, killing 38 people and leaving 29 survivors, a Kazakh official reported.
The Embraer 190 was en route from the Azerbaijani capital of Baku to the Russian city of Grozny in the North Caucasus when it was diverted and attempted an emergency landing 3 kilometers (1.8 miles) from Aktau, according to Azerbaijan Airlines.
