Heavy casualties reported among Turkish-backed fighters in Manbij, Dayr Hafir clashes

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – According to the SDF Media Center on Saturday, severe clashes between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Turkish-backed armed groups in southern and eastern Manbij and Dayr Hafir have left considerable casualties among the Turkish-backed fighters.
According to the statement by SDF, Turkish-backed armed groups continue their offensive operations in southern and eastern Manbij, in particular targeting areas around the Tishrin Dam.
The Manbij Military Council forces have mounted a strong defense, exacting heavy losses on the attacking forces.
The statement specified that a Turkish warplane carried out five heavy airstrikes on the Tishrin Dam and surrounding villages overnight, while artillery shelling continues in the area.
Drone surveillance activities continued until midnight.
The SDF Media Center reported that Turkish forces tried to establish a military position on a strategic hill near the Tishrin Dam, bringing heavy weapons and necessary equipment to the location.
However, SDF forces successfully countered this effort, demolishing a heavy howitzer and a Grad missile launcher platform.
In related developments, SDF forces targeted a military vehicle convoy, causing several fighter casualties. In the Dayr Hafir front, specifically in the village of Habuba, SDF forces destroyed a large military vehicle, eliminating all fighters aboard.
The SDF Media Center confirmed that over the past two days, the Manbij Military Council has exacted considerable losses on opposition forces in southern and eastern Manbij and around the Tishrin Dam areas, with approximately 72 fighters killed and dozens wounded.
Multiple armored vehicles and military vehicles were also destroyed in the operations.
