Pentagon responds to questions on potential US-French-SDF joint patrols in Northern Syria
Singh reiterated that the US military's presence in Syria remains focused on the eastern part of the country, where they continue their partnership with the SDF in the ongoing mission to defeat ISIS.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – During a recent Pentagon press briefing, Kurdistan24 correspondent in Washington, D.C., Issa Chomani raised concerns about the possibility of US and French troops being deployed to the northern Syrian (Rojava) border in a bid to ease tensions between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Turkish-backed forces.
Chomani asked Sabrina Singh, Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary, whether such a deployment was under consideration and if any discussions had taken place. Singh responded by denying any plans for joint patrols involving US, French, and SDF forces, stating, "I'm not aware of any joint patrols, if that's what you're alluding to."
Singh reiterated that the US military's presence in Syria remains focused on the eastern part of the country, where they continue their partnership with the SDF in the ongoing mission to defeat ISIS. She added, "I don't think there's any truth to those reports."
The question comes amid ongoing tensions in northern Syria (Rojava), where clashes between the SDF and Turkish-backed forces have raised concerns about regional stability. However, the Pentagon made clear that there are no plans for increased military coordination in that region at this time.
