ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The transitional Syrian government has announced a significant increase in visa fees for several nationalities, with Iraqi visitors now required to pay $250 for a single-entry visa, up from the previous $50.
A document issued by the Syrian Ministry of Interior on Thursday outlined the revised entry fees, specifying that Iraqi nationals will now be granted a three-month stay but with only one-time entry permission.
Revised Visa Fees for Other Nationalities
According to the official document, the updated fees also include:
$150 for citizens of Oman, Egypt, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, with a validity of three months. However, unlike Iraqis, these visas will allow multiple entries.
Citizens of Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, and Mauritania remain exempt from visa requirements and can stay in Syria for up to six months.
The decision marks a notable shift in Syria’s visa policy, which comes amid broader efforts by the new authorities to regulate entry into the country following the political transition.
