PM Barzani, Head of the Japanese Consular Office Discuss Japan-Kurdistan Relations

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – In a significant diplomatic moment underscoring the deep-rooted ties between Japan and the Kurdistan Region, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani formally received Mikihiro Arakawa, Head of the Japanese Consular Office in Erbil, on Saturday.

The meeting, held on the occasion of Mr. Arakawa’s completion of his duties, symbolized a mutual appreciation for sustained cooperation and the promising future of bilateral relations.

In a statement issued by the Kurdistan Regional Government, Prime Minister Barzani extended heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Arakawa for his dedicated service in reinforcing ties between Japan and the region.

Mr. Arakawa, in return, acknowledged the seamless cooperation and coordination with the various departments of the Kurdistan Regional Government and affirmed Japan’s readiness to further enhance its relations with the region.

This meeting comes at a time when the Kurdistan Region continues to attract international attention as a hub for political stability and economic potential in a historically volatile neighborhood.
