ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani delivered an inspiring speech on Monday while sharing an evening fast-breaking meal with Peshmerga forces and Kurdish farmers on the fifth front in western Kirkuk. The gathering underscored the Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) unwavering support for those safeguarding the region’s security and prosperity.

During his speech, Prime Minister Barzani expressed his deep gratitude to the Peshmerga forces for their sacrifices, highlighting their crucial role in ensuring the safety and stability of the Kurdistan Region. He also acknowledged the vital contributions of farmers, whose hard work sustains local communities.

"We owe our safety and security to the dedication and sacrifice of our heroic Peshmergas," Barzani stated, emphasizing his respect for the families of martyrs.

The Prime Minister also addressed recent challenges faced by Kurdish farmers, reaffirming that the KRG remains committed to defending their rights. He assured them that ongoing discussions with the federal government in Baghdad aim to secure fair resolutions, in line with constitutional agreements.

“These issues should have been resolved immediately after the formation of the new government following the writing of the constitution in 2005. I believe a significant mistake was made by labeling these regions as disputed areas. They are not disputed; they are occupied and separated territories. These are all parts of Kurdistan that have been forcibly taken from our people. One day, our people must return to their rightful areas,” he stressed.

While acknowledging past difficulties, Barzani expressed optimism about the future, calling for unity and resilience among the Kurdish people. "If we all stand together for Kurdistan, no force can stop us," he declared.

He concluded by encouraging continued determination and commitment, assuring the Peshmerga forces and farmers that the Kurdistan Region’s prosperity would continue to grow.

The event reinforced the KRG’s steadfast dedication to supporting its people, ensuring their security, and advocating for their rightful place within Iraq.
