Ocalan's message expected at Diyarbakir's Newroz celebrations

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Diyarbakir is set to host vibrant Newroz celebrations, where a message from imprisoned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) leader Abdulla Ocalan is expected to be read. The city, located in the Kurdistan region of Turkey (Bakur), will be the center of festivities drawing significant political and media attention.
Kurdistan24 reporter Hero Mawloodi reported on Friday that Ocalan's message is likely to be delivered during the event. Additionally, she noted that President Masoud Barzani’s message has also reached the celebration through a delegation from the Kurdistan Region.
Further heightening anticipation, Mawloodi stated that Members of Parliament from the DEM Party informed Kurdistan24 of a planned surprise during the event.
Security measures are extensive, with over 10,000 police officers and soldiers deployed to ensure the safety of attendees. The celebrations, organized by the DEM Party, the Democratic Regions Party, and the Women's Movement, have also drawn the attention of the international media, with 629 outlets covering the event.
