Iran's Ambassador to Iraq Responds to Trump’s Call for Dissolution of PMF
On Friday, Ale-Sadegh stated, "Trump's message to Tehran, which called for the dissolution or disruption of the PMF, is unacceptable to us," affirming Iran's stance on the issue.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – In a strong response to a recent statement by US President Donald Trump, Iran's Ambassador to Iraq, Mohammad-Kazem Ale-Sadegh, rejected the call for the dissolution of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF).
On Friday, Ale-Sadegh stated, "Trump's message to Tehran, which called for the dissolution or disruption of the PMF, is unacceptable to us," affirming Iran's stance on the issue. He emphasized that the decision regarding the PMF’s future was one for Iraq alone to make, expressing doubt that the dissolution of the force would be feasible.
The ambassador also made it clear that Iran would not engage in discussions regarding ballistic missile matters, highlighting Tehran’s firm position on the matter.
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Sudani weighed in on the matter, emphasizing Iraq’s sovereignty on the issue. Speaking in a televised interview, Sudani noted that Iraq had not received any official request from the United States concerning the dissolution of the PMF. He further asserted, “No one can force Iraq to end the mission of the PMF,” reinforcing Iraq’s right to determine its own security matters without external pressure.
The exchange of statements reflects the ongoing complexities of regional politics and the balancing act that Iraq faces between international interests and domestic decisions.
