ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdish artist and writer Hama Hashim has recently released three new books in Kurdish that delve into the history, evolution, and philosophical dimensions of art, enriching the region’s growing body of literature on visual arts.
The first book, History of Art: Human History, spans 600 pages and offers a comprehensive analysis of the historical development of art. It traces the origins and evolution of artistic expression from the Stone Age through the Bronze Age, examining how these pivotal eras shaped the foundations of world art.
The second title, Modern Sculpture, explores the emergence of freedom in sculptural expression, the key principles underlying modern art, and the diverse experiences of notable sculptors. The book provides critical insight into the transformative period when sculpture began breaking away from traditional constraints.
The third book, Art of Postmodernism, examines the core concepts that define postmodern artistic practice. Emphasizing the centrality of "idea" in postmodern art, Hashim connects this theme to broader philosophical discussions, offering readers a deep understanding of how thought and theory influence artistic direction.
With these latest publications, Hashim has now authored a total of 10 books focused on the art of painting and visual aesthetics, establishing himself as a leading voice in contemporary Kurdish art discourse.
