ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – In a landmark move to integrate artificial intelligence into legislative governance, the UAE Cabinet, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Monday at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, approved the establishment of the Regulatory Intelligence Office—a body set to transform the nation’s lawmaking framework through cutting-edge AI technologies.

The new office will develop a unified legislative system that connects federal and local laws with judicial decisions, executive protocols, and public services. By leveraging large-scale data analytics, the office will continuously assess the societal and economic impact of existing laws, suggest timely updates, and ensure legal frameworks evolve in step with national priorities. It will also engage with top international research centers to adopt best practices tailored to the UAE’s unique context.

“This AI-driven legislative system promises a faster, more precise, and globally aligned lawmaking process,” Sheikh Mohammed stated, underlining its role in future-proofing governance in the digital age.

As artificial intelligence becomes deeply embedded in everyday life—from personalized healthcare and autonomous transport to smart city infrastructure and predictive public services—the UAE’s decision to apply AI in governance reflects a bold step toward comprehensive digital transformation. By integrating intelligent systems into lawmaking, the country not only streamlines decision-making but also positions itself at the forefront of 21st-century governance innovation.
