ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — The final communique of the 34th Arab League Summit, held in Baghdad on Saturday, delivered a strong rejection of any attempts to forcibly displace the Palestinian people and condemned ongoing Israeli attacks on Syria.

“We reaffirm our categorical rejection of the displacement of the Palestinian people and stress the urgent need to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip,” read the statement, which was published on the Iraqi state-run News Agency (INA), underlining the unified position of Arab leaders amid the ongoing war in Gaza.

The summit’s declaration further urged the international community to intensify pressure aimed at ending the "bloodshed" in Gaza. “We call on the international community to act and stop the bloodshed in Gaza,” the leaders stated, emphasizing the importance of collective Arab action. “The purpose of the Arab summit is to unify our efforts and serve the interests of the peoples of our region,” the statement added.

The leaders also highlighted the urgent need for a political solution to halt the devastating conflict in Sudan and condemned what they described as “Zionist aggression against Syria.”

Historically, the Arab League has opposed any Israeli moves seen as attempts to alter the demographic composition of Palestinian territories. Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes in Syria, often targeting Iranian-linked military infrastructure, have also escalated in recent months, drawing condemnation from Damascus and its regional allies.

The situation in Sudan was also high on the agenda. The conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has plunged the country into chaos, with millions displaced and a deepening humanitarian crisis. Arab leaders reiterated their call for a political solution to end the violence.

The summit’s emphasis on unity and mutual interests signals an effort by Arab states to present a cohesive stance on regional crises—many of which are intertwined with broader geopolitical rivalries and global diplomatic deadlock.
