KRG Head of Foreign Relations Highlights Ongoing US-Kurdistan Region Engagement and Natural Gas Development
“They will meet with US administration officials in the next two days to discuss recent developments in the KRG and explore future coordination,” Dizayee said.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Safeen Dizayee, Head of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Department of Foreign Relations, announced on Thursday that high-level meetings between the KRG and US administration officials are set to continue in the coming days, focusing on strengthening cooperation and addressing key regional developments.
“They will meet with US administration officials in the next two days to discuss recent developments in the KRG and explore future coordination,” Dizayee said.
The talks are expected to cover a range of strategic issues, with a particular emphasis on the energy sector. Dizayee highlighted that two US companies, which have been active in the Kurdistan Region for over 15 years, are poised to expand their operations with a focus on natural gas development.
“Their next task is to prioritize the development and production of natural gas, followed by oil,” he noted. “Both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq need natural gas, especially for electricity generation and other essential services.”
He also emphasized the broader significance of foreign investment in the Kurdistan Region, calling it a “major achievement” and a key priority for both the KRG and Baghdad.
“These agreements reflect our commitment to fostering a stable and investment-friendly environment that benefits all Iraqis,” Dizayee added.
