ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio publicly reaffirmed America’s commitment to the Kurdistan Region following a meeting with Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, underscoring the Kurdistan Region’s vital role in ensuring stability within Iraq and across the broader Middle East.

In a post on his official X account, Secretary Rubio stated: "Met with Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and reaffirmed U.S. support for a strong and resilient Iraqi Kurdistan Region that is critical to the stability of Iraq and the broader region."

The statement adds to a growing series of diplomatic affirmations from senior U.S. officials during Prime Minister Barzani’s visit to Washington, highlighting the Kurdistan Region’s status as a key partner in advancing regional energy cooperation, security coordination, and constitutional federalism within Iraq.
