France Signals Strong Investment Interest in Kurdistan Region

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Following the conclusion of the French-Iraq Business Forum, senior officials from Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and France held a high-level meeting to advance economic cooperation and trade relations.

Mohammed Shukri, Chairman of the Kurdistan Region Board of Investment, met with Iraq’s Minister of Trade, Atheer Dawood, and Laurent Saint-Martin, France’s Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and French Nationals Abroad. The trilateral meeting focused on strengthening trade, economic, and investment ties between France, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region.

During the talks, the three parties reached a consensus on expanding French investment in key sectors, including energy, industry, and agriculture. France reaffirmed its readiness to participate in these areas actively, underscoring its commitment not only to Iraq as a whole but also to the Kurdistan Region.

To mark the occasion, Saint-Martin and his ministry hosted a luncheon for both the Iraqi and Kurdistan Region delegations, further highlighting France’s diplomatic and economic outreach to the region.
