Former KRG Interior Minister Karim Sinjari Passes Away at 75
Abdulkarim Sultan Abdullah, also known as Karim Sinjari, was born in Mosul in 1950.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Former Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Interior Minister Karim Sinjari passed away on Tuesday at the age of 75.
Abdulkarim Sultan Abdullah, also known as Karim Sinjari, was born in Mosul in 1950. He served as the Interior Minister of the KRG.
About Karim Sinjari
Sinjari received a bachelor's degree in law from the College of Law and Politics at Baghdad University in 1971. He worked as a lawyer in Baghdad from 1971 to 1975. After the collapse of the September Revolution, he moved to Iran as a refugee and became a member of the Supervisory Committee for South Kurdistan Refugees in Iran. In 1976, he relocated to Europe as a refugee.
Sinjari joined the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in 1968. In 1976, he became a member of the interim leadership of the KDP at the Berlin Conference. He was elected to the Central Committee of the KDP in 1993. From 1993 to 1994, he served as the Director of General Security for the KRG. He was elected as the Minister of Interior in the KRG's fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth cabinets in 2012 and 2014.
In 2010, he was elected to the leadership council and later the political bureau of the KDP at the 13th congress. He was fluent in Kurdish, Arabic, Persian, and English.
