ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei issued a stern warning to Israel on Friday night, vowing a powerful response to what he described as a “grave mistake” after Israeli airstrikes targeted Iranian territory.

According to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), citing the official website of the Office of the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei delivered a televised message to the Iranian nation in which he condemned the strikes and warned that the Zionist regime "will not escape unscathed."

“The vile and wicked Zionist regime has made a grave mistake, the consequences of which will leave it devastated,” Khamenei declared. “The great Iranian nation can be assured that the armed forces, backed by the people, will act with strength and deliver heavy blows to this regime.”

Offering condolences for the deaths of commanders, scientists, and civilians reportedly killed in the attack, the Supreme Leader emphasized that Iran “will not overlook the blood of its honored martyrs or the violation of the country's airspace.”

Khamenei described the national consensus for retaliation as unprecedented. “All officials, political factions, and various segments of society are united in demanding a strong response against the vile, wicked, and terrorist nature of the Zionist regime,” he said. “God willing, through powerful action, life will be made bitter for them, and there will be no appeasement.”

“They should not think they struck and it's over,” he continued. “They started this and launched a war. We will not allow them to escape the consequences of this major crime.”

He concluded by reaffirming public and institutional support for the Iranian armed forces, declaring: “The Islamic Republic, with God's permission, will prevail over the Zionist regime,” and assuring the nation that “there will be no negligence in this matter.”

The remarks come amid escalating tensions in the region, following Israeli strikes that, according to reports, targeted critical Iranian military and nuclear infrastructure.
