Israeli Strikes Target Iranian Energy Infrastructure in Tehran and Bushehr

Israeli airstrikes hit Tehran’s Shahran oil depot and gas sites in Bushehr, including South Pars and Fajr-e Jam, escalating tensions. Iran contained the damage and responded with missile strikes on Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, vowing continued action.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Iranian Petro Energy Information Network (SHANA) confirmed that the Shahran oil depot in Tehran and a fuel storage facility in the south of the capital were targeted in Israeli airstrikes on Saturday evening.

According to SHANA, the strikes are part of a continuation of recent Israeli attacks, but the incident was swiftly contained. “Immediately after the incident, operational and emergency response teams were deployed, and the situation is under control,” the agency reported.

Preliminary assessments by SHANA indicated that the quantity of fuel stored at both depots was not significant and that the situation remains fully stable.

The attacks in Tehran follow earlier reports by Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency, which stated that Israeli drones struck two major natural gas installations in Bushehr Province, escalating the conflict to a new level.

According to IRNA, a small Israeli drone hit a section of the South Pars Gas Condensate Field, one of Iran’s largest energy projects. The attack targeted an onshore segment in Phase 14, resulting in an explosion and a fire. Gas production at the site was temporarily halted but resumed shortly afterward once the fire was brought under control.

Another drone reportedly hit the Fajr-e Jam natural gas processing facility in eastern Bushehr. The extent of the damage has not yet been disclosed.

The latest round of Israeli strikes began overnight on Friday, with the initial wave targeting Iranian air defense systems, nuclear sites, and military officials. In response, Iran launched missile strikes deep into Israeli territory, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Iranian officials have stated that their operations will continue as long as deemed necessary.

The targeting of energy infrastructure marks a significant escalation in the conflict between the two countries, adding a new dimension to the already volatile situation.
