ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused the United States Sunday of supporting Israel’s intense bombardment campaign against the Islamic Republic, while condemning the international community’s response to the ongoing conflict, according to AFP.

Speaking in a meeting with foreign diplomats broadcast on Iranian state television, Araghchi said Tehran possessed “solid proof of the support of the American forces and American bases in the region for the attacks of the Zionist regime military forces.” He condemned the Israeli strikes that began on Friday, declaring that Israel had “crossed a new red line in international law” by targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Araghchi also criticized the United Nations Security Council for its “indifference” toward the attacks, stating that Western governments had “condemned Iran instead of Israel despite it being the side that was violated.” He called Israel’s military campaign “an aggression” and stressed that Iran’s responses were a legitimate act of self-defense. “If the aggression stops, naturally our responses will also stop,” he said.

Addressing the stalled nuclear negotiations with the United States, Araghchi accused Israel of seeking to “derail” the diplomatic process. “It is entirely clear that the Israeli regime does not want any agreement on the nuclear issue. It does not want negotiations and does not seek diplomacy,” he said.

Nevertheless, Araghchi affirmed that Iran remains open to a nuclear deal that would guarantee it does not develop atomic weapons, while firmly rejecting any agreement that would deprive Iran of its “nuclear rights.” “We are prepared for any agreement aimed at ensuring Iran does not pursue nuclear weapons,” he said.

U.S. President Donald Trump in the early hours of Sunday morning firmly denied any American involvement in a reported attack on Iran, while issuing a stern warning that any aggression against the United States would be met with overwhelming force.

“The U.S. had nothing to do with the attack on Iran tonight,” President Trump posted on his Truth Social platform. “If we are attacked in any way, shape, or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before.”

These remarks come amid escalating hostilities between Israel and Iran, following a series of high-profile strikes and counterattacks targeting military and energy infrastructures in both countries.
