Israel Launches Missile Strike Against Iran as Conflict Escalates

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - The Israeli Ministry of Defense announced on platform X that it has launched a new wave of surface-to-surface missile attacks targeting Iranian territory.
Israeli media outlets reported that the Israeli Air Force conducted intensive missile strikes on central Iran, claiming the operation was intended to neutralize Iran’s anticipated ballistic missile offensive against Israel.
Iran’s state television confirmed that the country’s air defense systems were activated in response to the Israeli aerial assault.
Early Friday morning, June 13, 2025, the Israeli army officially launched "Operation Rising Lion," striking Iranian nuclear and missile facilities.
In response, Iran declared its retaliatory operation under the name “True Promise 3,” launching several waves of missile and drone attacks on Israeli territory.
According to Iran’s Mehr News Agency, Iranian Ministry of Health spokesperson Hossein Kermanpour announced that following 65 consecutive hours of Israeli strikes, 224 people have been killed, including women and children.
He added that 1,481 people have been injured, 1,277 of whom are still receiving treatment in hospitals, with over 90% of the victims being civilians.
