PMF Supporters Rally in Baghdad Urging Iraq-Iran Solidarity Amid Regional Tensions

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Hundreds of Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) supporters gathered in Baghdad on Monday to condemn recent Israeli attacks on Iran and call for stronger Iraqi support for its eastern neighbor.
The demonstrators assembled near the Mu'allaq Bridge in the Green Zone, a symbolic location close to key government institutions, where they urged the Iraqi government to take a more active role in regional affairs. Protesters expressed concern over what they described as insufficient action in support of Iran, especially amid escalating tensions.
Kurdistan24 reporter Shivan Jabari, reporting from the scene, noted that the protest remained organized and focused on calls for unity and diplomatic action.
The demonstration came a day after Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani held a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, al-Sudani reiterated Iraq’s commitment to preventing further conflict between Iran and Israel and emphasized the importance of preserving regional stability through cooperation and restraint.
