ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz on Wednesday declared that “A tornado passes over Tehran,” as the Israeli air campaign against Iran entered its sixth consecutive day, targeting what Tel Aviv describes as strategic symbols of Iranian power.
In a post on the social media platform X, Katz stated, “A tornado passes over Tehran. Symbols of government are being bombed and destroyed - from the Broadcasting Authority and soon other targets, and crowds of residents are fleeing. This is how dictatorships collapse.”

Katz went further, drawing a stark parallel with the fate of Saddam Hussein, saying, “I warn the Iranian dictator: Whoever follows in the path of Saddam Hussein will end up like Saddam Hussein.”

Implied Warning to Iranian Leadership
Katz’s remarks are widely interpreted as a thinly veiled threat to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, reinforcing a previous warning issued Tuesday in which he suggested that Khamenei could face the same fate as the late Iraqi president should Tehran persist in its missile assaults on Israeli territory.
According to The Times of Israel, Katz’s rhetoric coincides with Israel’s sustained strikes on major governmental, military, and nuclear sites inside Iran, which have intensified since the outbreak of hostilities.
Sixth Day of Hostilities
The aerial conflict between Israel and Iran has now extended into its sixth day, with both nations exchanging missile strikes amid escalating regional tensions. Despite calls from U.S. President Donald Trump urging Tehran to accept unconditional surrender, the tit-for-tat attacks continue unabated.
