New Wave of Iranian Missiles Hits Israel

Iran fired 20–25 missiles at Israel Friday, hitting Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa. Two people were injured. Khamenei called it “punishment” for Israel’s earlier strikes. The conflict, escalating since June 13, shows no sign of easing despite global calls for calm.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Tensions in the Middle East reached new heights on Friday as Iranian and Israeli media reported a fresh wave of Iranian missile attacks targeting multiple locations across Israel. The strike comes amid an already volatile military escalation between the two regional powers.

According to Iranian media sources, a new round of missiles was launched toward Israel, prompting immediate air raid sirens across Tel Aviv. The Israeli army confirmed the attack, stating: "We are monitoring Iran’s missiles and intercepting them."

Israeli media provided further details on the scale and scope of the attack. Loud explosions were reported in both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, with around 20 to 25 missiles reportedly fired toward Israeli territory. One missile struck the northern port city of Haifa.

Channel 12, a major Israeli broadcaster, reported that three missiles landed in Gush Dan, Jerusalem, and Haifa. The channel confirmed that the missile hitting Haifa resulted in significant material damage and injuries.

Israel's Magen David Adom (MDA) rescue service reported two individuals were injured by shrapnel during the latest barrage. "MDA medics and paramedics are providing medical treatment and are taking a 16-year-old boy to the hospital in serious condition, with shrapnel in his upper body, and a 54-year-old man in moderate condition with a shrapnel injury to his lower limbs," the MDA said in a statement. The locations of the injured individuals were not specified.

Israeli radio networks also confirmed that Iranian missiles impacted several areas across the country. However, the full extent of the damage remains under evaluation as emergency and military response teams continue their assessments.

In parallel with the missile offensive, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, issued a short but pointed statement on the social media platform X. Referring to the strike, Khamenei wrote: "The Zionist enemy is being punished. It is being punished right now."

The missile barrage is part of an intensifying military conflict that began on June 13, when Israel launched a wide-scale air campaign targeting Iranian nuclear and military infrastructure. Since then, both sides have engaged in near-daily exchanges of fire, resulting in mounting casualties and widespread regional concern.

The international community continues to call for de-escalation. However, both Iranian and Israeli officials have thus far shown no signs of backing down from the confrontation.

Kurdistan24 will continue to monitor developments as they unfold.
