ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani announced on Tuesday that no decision has been made regarding the resumption of negotiations with the United States, signaling that a new round of diplomatic talks is unlikely shortly.

Speaking at a press conference, Mohajerani addressed recent remarks by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who claimed that Iranian nuclear sites had been "obliterated" in recent airstrikes. She confirmed that the facilities were "seriously damaged," but stopped short of using Trump's terminology.

Regarding regional developments, Mohajerani commented on the recent ceasefire between Israel and Iran, expressing hope that it could lead to lasting peace. “Iran has never welcomed war,” she said, reaffirming Tehran’s stance on regional stability. However, she emphasized Iran’s right to defend itself amid ongoing tensions.

The statements come amid heightened uncertainty in the Middle East and increased international scrutiny of Iran's nuclear program.
