Iranian Armed Forces Spokesperson: U.S. Behind Recent Attacks

Iran’s spokesperson of the Armed Forces warned the U.S. against further attacks, blaming it for recent aggression. He vowed a more destructive response if hostilities resume, claiming Iran’s missiles bypassed Israeli defenses and U.S. bases in West Asia are within range.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) — Iran's spokesperson of Armed Forces, Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, has accused the United States of being the primary instigator of the recent military aggression against Iran, issuing a stark warning that any further attacks will be met with a devastating response. The statements were made in an interview with Al Mayadeen and reported by the Iranian Labour News Agency (ILNA).

Brigadier General Shekarchi declared, "America is the main party responsible for the aggression against Iran, and we warn this country and its minion, and all parties that support them, against any new aggression against Iran." He underscored that American and Israeli military installations across West Asia are within striking range of Iran's armed forces and could become targets in the event of further hostilities.

He warned, "If America and the Zionist regime violate the ceasefire, the consequence of this action will be directed at the existing military bases in West Asia." Emphasizing Iran's military preparedness, Shekarchi stated, "Our armed forces have the capability to respond to any aggression, and our future response will be more destructive than before, and we will prove this practically on the field."

Claiming that Iranian missiles and UAVs had penetrated Israel’s advanced air defense systems during recent hostilities, Shekarchi added, "In this war, our missiles and UAVs had complete freedom of action in the airspace of the Zionist regime."

The spokesperson claimed that the Iranian military's strategic capacity had not yet been fully deployed, noting, "Large parts of our armed forces did not enter this war, but they were pressuring us to enter the war." He said that any future confrontation would witness the full extent of Iran's capabilities: "What we possess will change the fate of the war, and America will taste Iran's bitter response in the event of any aggression."

Shekarchi said Iran's military strength lies not only in its arsenal but in its indigenous production capabilities. "Our armed forces are self-sufficient in military production and possess destructive weapons," he stated, asserting that Iran does not require foreign weapons due to the proficiency of its domestic engineers.

Highlighting Iran's covert military development, he said, "Due to the confidentiality of military information and secrets, we have not unveiled our new and advanced weapons, and our hands are full."

According to Shekarchi, the Iranian military imposed the recent ceasefire on its adversaries. "We are not the initiators of the war, but we inflicted destructive blows on the enemy and imposed a ceasefire on the enemy with crushing blows," he said.

Shekarchi criticized Western governments for backing Israel militarily, stating, "From the beginning of this war, America participated in it directly and indirectly, and many countries, especially Western countries, supported the Zionist regime in this war." Despite this support, he said, "Although America supported this regime in all fields, the Zionist regime could not confront Iran."

Referring to recent operations, Shekarchi claimed that Iranian forces had severely damaged U.S. forces stationed at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, a strategic American outpost in the Gulf. He also said Iran had successfully shot down numerous UAVs from both American and Israeli forces.

He insisted Iran is not seeking to expand the conflict but made clear that any further provocation would meet with a sweeping response. "We do not want the expansion of the war, but our response will be strong and comprehensive and will include the entire region," he said, adding, "In any new aggression, we will have no red lines."

Brigadier General Shekarchi concluded with a call for unity among Muslim nations, declaring, "All Muslims must participate in confronting the Zionist regime because this regime targets all of them."

He emphasized that Hezbollah and other regional resistance groups are independent forces acting in defense of their respective countries.

Shekarchi said the Iranian nation remains unified in the face of external threats, emphasizing, "Iranians defeated all the enemy's efforts to divide. Our armed forces are the children of this nation and are not mercenaries like the American forces."

As tensions remain high in the region, Shekarchi's remarks highlight Iran's readiness to respond militarily and politically to any renewed confrontation, placing both American and Israeli interests across West Asia under explicit threat.
