DEM Party Confirms PKK Disarmament Ceremony to Be Held in Sulaimani on Friday
According to the DEM Party source, a delegation from the party will arrive in the Kurdistan Region on Thursday to attend the ceremony the following day.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) are expected to lay down their arms during a ceremony scheduled for Friday in Sulaimani province, a source from the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) confirmed to Kurdistan24.
The disarmament move follows what Turkish media described as a productive meeting between a DEM Party delegation and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday. Discussions focused on the disarmament process and the formation of a parliamentary commission aimed at building what Turkey called a "Turkey without terrorism.”
The DEM Party delegation urged President Erdogan to accelerate the establishment of the commission and called for broader participation in the peace process. They had requested permission for visits to imprisoned PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan not only by their own representatives, but also by academics, writers, and leaders from other political parties.
According to the DEM Party source, a delegation from the party will arrive in the Kurdistan Region on Thursday to attend the ceremony the following day.
The Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) stated that, due to security concerns, the event will be held privately without any media presence or live broadcasting. The time and location have been deliberately kept confidential to ensure safety.
