ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) — A source has disclosed that the U.S. President Donald Trump's special envoy for Syria, Tom Barrack, is scheduled to meet with Ahmed al-Sharaa and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) commander Mazloum Abdi as part of the implementation process of the March 10, 2025 agreement between the SDF and Damascus. The revelation, first reported by Syria TV, suggests that some clauses of the agreement may be subject to amendments.

According to the same source cited by Syria TV, Barrack will initially meet with Mazloum Abdi in the coming days, followed by a trilateral meeting that includes Ahmed al-Sharaa. The precise location of the meetings has not yet been disclosed.

The discussions are expected to center on enforcing the key provisions of the March 10 agreement, which aims to unify all civilian and military institutions of the Autonomous Administration with those of the Syrian government. These include critical infrastructures such as border crossings, airports, and oil and gas fields.

The source emphasized that while the core framework of the agreement remains intact, "some clauses might be amended at the request of the SDF, in agreement with Washington."

Syria TV also reported that France has expressed its support for the agreement and communicated its position to the United States.

In addition to overseeing the implementation of the agreement, the U.S. envoy is also expected to discuss ongoing cooperation between the International Coalition, the Syrian government, and SDF forces in the continued fight against ISIS in Syria.

The March 10 agreement, signed by Ahmed al-Sharaa and Mazloum Abdi, contains several significant provisions. Among the most notable is the affirmation that the Kurdish people are "an inseparable part of Syria and their constitutional rights be fully guaranteed."
