ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani chaired a meeting of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Council of Ministers on Wednesday, according to a statement from the KRG.

The main topic of the meeting was the recent developments regarding the implementation of the latest agreement and joint understanding between the KRG and the Iraqi government, which was approved by the Council of Ministers last week.

The Council of Ministers confirmed that the Kurdistan Region has fully met all its obligations. The Ministry of Finance and Economy has deposited 120 billion dinars into the Federal Ministry of Finance's account, as stipulated in the joint agreement, and has sent the approved salary lists for May and June.

Regarding oil, the Kurdistan Region's Ministry of Natural Resources has recently facilitated the Federal Ministry of Oil and SOMO in providing information, data, and direct visits to all oil fields in the region through a joint committee.

The technical committees of the two ministries reached a joint agreement on the protocol to resume oil exports through SOMO for the amount of oil currently produced in the Kurdistan Region, in light of the recent drone attacks on oil fields.

These measures reaffirm the Kurdistan Region's commitment to the agreement, and the federal government is urged to fulfill its obligations by immediately sending the salaries and financial entitlements of the Kurdish people, which have not yet been disbursed.

The Council of Ministers expresses great respect and appreciation for the responsible attitude and resilience of the people of the Kurdistan Region. Despite the difficult financial situation caused by the unconstitutional decision. The Council assures the Kurdish people that it will never hesitate to provide them with salaries and entitlements.

Furthermore, the Council of Ministers calls on the Kurdistan media to operate honestly and responsibly, avoid becoming a platform for false information, and refrain from misrepresentations to fulfill their duty without contributing to chaos.
