Baghdad Court Issues Death Sentence to ISIS Member for Yezidi Genocide Crimes

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Thursday, the Karkh court in Baghdad issued a third verdict against an ISIS member accused of crimes against the Yezidis. The decision references the law concerning Yezidi women who survived ISIS, in particular Article 7/1, which acknowledges the genocide of Yezidis.

The court announced that the suspect was sentenced to death for participating in several crimes against the Yezidis in Sinjar in 2014.

The court expressed its satisfaction with the decision and the punishment meted out to the perpetrators of these crimes.
