ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iraq’s federal government generated nearly $6.7 billion in oil revenue for the month of June, a crucial income for the state budget, as total exports for the first half of 2025 surpassed 600 million barrels, according to official figures released Friday. The data highlights the continued reliance on exports from the country’s southern fields, supplemented by smaller quantities from the Qayyarah field and overland shipments to Jordan.

The Federal Ministry of Oil announced the figures on Friday, publishing the final statistics compiled by the State Organization for Marketing of Oil (SOMO). For the month of June, total crude oil exports reached 98,882,613 barrels, yielding revenues of $6,698,021,000.

A detailed breakdown of the export sources shows that the vast majority of the oil originated from fields in central and southern Iraq, accounting for 97,718,994 barrels. An additional 964,741 barrels were exported from the Qayyarah field, while 216,878 barrels were transported to neighboring Jordan.

The June report builds on previously released statistics for the first half of the year, which paint a broader picture of Iraq's oil export performance. According to SOMO, Iraq's total oil exports during the first six months of 2025 amounted to 606,582,373 barrels. This brings the average monthly export rate for the period to 101,097,062 barrels.

The six-month data further details the sources of these extensive exports. The primary volume, totaling 590,262,866 barrels, was shipped from the Basra and central fields via the southern ports. Over the same period, exports from the Qayyarah field in Kirkuk reached 5,692,331 barrels.

SOMO also noted that exports of Kirkuk's oil to Jordan during the first half of the year totaled 1,866,194 barrels.

While a complete revenue figure for the first half of 2025 was not provided, the organization clarified that the combined export revenue for the four-month period covering March, April, May, and June was $27,514,474,242.
