Kurdistan Region PM Masrour Barzani Receives Iranian Delegation, Discusses Trade and Tourism Cooperation

The visiting delegation expressed gratitude to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) for its cooperation and hospitality in hosting Iranian pilgrims visiting Iraq’s religious sites.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Monday, July 28, received a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran led by Reza Rahmani, Governor of West Azerbaijan Province (Urmia).

During the meeting, which was also attended by Faramarz Asadi, Iran’s Consul General in Erbil, both sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations, with a particular focus on boosting commercial exchange and facilitating tourism between the two sides.

The visiting delegation expressed gratitude to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) for its cooperation and hospitality in hosting Iranian pilgrims visiting Iraq’s religious sites.

The talks underscored the importance of continued coordination between the Kurdistan Region and neighboring Iran, especially in sectors that directly impact cross-border trade, infrastructure, and the movement of people.
