Khamenei: Nuclear and Human Rights Claims Are Pretexts—U.S. Fears Iran's Scientific and Ideological Power

Khamenei: The West fears Iran's unity & scientific rise, not Iran's nukes. 'Enemies tremble at our faith-driven progress,' he declares, citing 12-Day War as proof of Iran's unbreakable resolve. 'Their excuses won't stop our march to dignity.'

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has accused global powers, particularly the United States, of fabricating pretexts such as nuclear concerns and human rights issues to mask their true fear: Iran’s internal unity and its rising scientific capabilities under the banner of Islam and the Qur'an.

In a speech delivered on Tuesday, July 29, during a memorial ceremony honoring commanders and scholars martyred in the 12-Day War, Khamenei described international antagonism toward Iran as rooted in ideological and scientific apprehension, not policy or behavior.

“The Iranian people will never abandon their path of strengthening faith and advancing diverse branches of science,” Khamenei declared. “Contrary to what our enemies desire, Iran will continue to march forward on the path of progress and dignity.”

He emphasized that Iran’s development model—merging religious conviction with scientific innovation—has become a source of unease for powers like the United States, who, he claimed, are unsettled by Iran's self-reliance and the nation’s refusal to submit to foreign pressure.

12-Day War: A Turning Point in Global Perception

Reflecting on the recent 12-Day War, Khamenei said the conflict exposed the determination and capability of the Iranian nation. “In the aftermath of this war, global actors were forced to acknowledge Iran’s power and the will of its people,” he stated. “They sensed Iran’s strength up close and became disoriented.”

According to Khamenei, the Iranian people have consistently demonstrated resilience in the face of military, security, and political challenges, thwarting enemy strategies and invalidating foreign agendas.

“The root cause of hostility from arrogant powers, especially the United States, lies in their fear of Iran’s ideological foundation and scientific progress under Islamic principles,” Khamenei concluded. “Their talk of nuclear issues, missiles, or human rights is nothing but a pretext. What truly worries them is our strength.”

Khamenei’s remarks come amid sustained international scrutiny over Iran’s nuclear ambitions and domestic policies. However, the Supreme Leader's narrative firmly repositions the ongoing geopolitical tensions as a clash of values and sovereignty, asserting that Iran’s ideological and scientific path remains unshaken by external pressures.
