KRG to Convene on Oil, Salaries, Peshmerga Reforms
The KRG Council of Ministers is set to meet to discuss resuming oil exports under a new federal agreement, the final steps for June and July salary payments, and new proposals for Peshmerga entitlements.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Council of Ministers is set to convene on Wednesday to address a critical agenda focusing on the resumption of oil exports, the final steps for disbursing public sector salaries, and significant proposals regarding the Peshmerga forces.
The high-level meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and attended by Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani. According to a statement from the KRG’s Department of Media and Information, the council will discuss three key items that are central to the economic and security stability of the Kurdistan Region.
The first item on the agenda is a follow-up on the final administrative and procedural steps required for the disbursement of salaries for the months of June and July 2025. This discussion is aimed at ensuring the timely payment of financial entitlements to the region's public sector employees.
Secondly, the council will address the vital topic of resuming the Kurdistan Region's oil exports. This discussion is particularly significant as it will be held in light of the latest joint decision reached between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Government's Council of Ministers, signaling a potential new phase in energy cooperation between Erbil and Baghdad.
The third and final item scheduled for discussion involves a series of proposals put forward by the Ministry of Peshmerga. The council will review these proposals, which concern important matters related to the service, pension, salaries, and overall financial entitlements for the members of the Peshmerga forces.
