ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Friday, extended his warm congratulations to Yezidis (Ezidi) across Kurdistan and the world on the occasion of the Yezidi Summer Festival (Çileya Havînê), the annual festival that marks the fortieth day of summer celebrated on August 2.
In a formal message, the Prime Minister conveyed his heartfelt wishes for joy and peace during the celebration and reaffirmed the Kurdistan Regional Government’s continued support for the legitimate rights and aspirations of the Yezidi community.
Çileya Havînê means the fortieth day of summer and is commonly used to indicate the middle of the season.
