Erbil Inaugurates Major 120-Meter Intersection Park Featuring Thousands of Trees and Flowers

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – A 120-meter intersection park was opened on Sunday in Erbil, according to Sasan Awni, the Minister of Municipalities and Tourism. The park features more than 10,022 trees.
During a press conference, Awni noted that the park was established on the orders of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and funded by the Prime Minister's Office. It spans 205,000 square meters at the intersection of the Erbil-Mosul road and the 120-meter street.
Awni also stated that the park includes over 10,000 trees and 22,000 flowers, in addition to two wells and two reservoirs. The Kurdistan flag, standing 50 meters high, occupies an area of 4,120 square meters. Efforts are underway to enhance greenery in all cities, particularly in the capital of the Kurdistan Region.
In addition to this park, a green belt is planned around Erbil, and several other parks are set to open this year.
