ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Hussein Qaidi, head of the Office for Rescuing Abducted Yezidis, told Kurdistan24 on Sunday that during the attack on Sinjar on August 3, 2014, ISIS kidnapped more than 6,000 Yezidis, with approximately 40% still awaiting rescue.

According to Qaidi, their office has confirmed that about 6,417 Yezidis were abducted by ISIS, while another 2,554 individuals have yet to be rescued.

"We cannot discuss the procedures for the release of the kidnapped Yezidis with the media, but we are working to contact them through our members to determine their whereabouts and send a team to rescue them," he explained. He added that they will investigate the kidnappers before making any contact or facilitating a release.

He recounted a harrowing incident: “A woman and her child were kidnapped by ISIS. After being deprived of food and water for a long time, the terrorist organization fed the woman a meal of meat and, after she ate, told her it was her child's meat.”

"The atrocities and inhumane acts committed by ISIS will not cease. They have perpetrated all forms of inhumanity, including murder, sexual assault, human trafficking, and other horrific acts," he stated.
