Kurdistan Diaspora Confederation Marks 11th Anniversary of Yezidi Genocide

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Kurdistan Diaspora Confederation (KDC) organized a series of activities on Sunday in over 20 countries and cities across Europe and the United States to mark the 11th anniversary of the Yezidi genocide.

In a statement regarding this solemn occasion, the KDC emphasized that various events were held to honor the victims of the Yezidi genocide. These included the display of photos of the victims, the lighting of candles in their memory, and the presentation of information about the genocide that occurred in the Sinjar district.

The statement noted that this year's activities had a significant impact, as awareness of the Yezidi genocide was raised in many Western countries.

“As the KDC, we will dedicate all our efforts in Western countries to advocating for the Yezidi Kurds, aiming for broader recognition of the Sinjar genocide by the international community. We hope the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi government will reach an agreement that allows the Yezidis to return to their homeland,” the statement added.

The KDC also listed the countries and cities where these activities took place: Berlin, Brussels, Amsterdam, Nashville (USA), Oslo, Tbilisi, Vienna, Stockholm, Stavropol, Bishkek, Almaty, Zurich, Helsingborg, Montauban, Vancouver (Canada), Kassel, Bremen, Wolfsburg, Düsseldorf, and Münster.
