Yezidi Kurds injured in Hamburg knife attack by Iranian coworker. German police investigate possible religious motive as community raises safety concerns. Attacker arrested at meat processing plant.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Two Yezidi Kurds were injured in a knife attack in Germany after an Iranian-born man assaulted them at a meat processing facility in the city of Hamburg, German news agency DPA reported.
The violent incident occurred in the town of Quickborn, near Hamburg, where a 45-year-old Iranian national—employed as a butcher—attacked his two Kurdish Yezidi coworkers with a meat-cutting knife. One of the victims hails from Shingal, while the other is originally from Northern Syria (Western Kurdistan).
According to the report, the attacker worked in the same facility alongside the victims. Despite their attempts to defend themselves, both Yezidi men sustained injuries from the assault. Other workers at the scene intervened quickly and managed to subdue the attacker until police forces arrived and arrested him.
Authorities have confirmed the arrest of the suspect and seized the knife used in the assault. Police in Hamburg stated that a possible religious motivation may be behind the attack.
The incident has raised concerns within the Yezidi community in Germany, particularly regarding the safety of minority groups in workplaces and the potential for ethnically or religiously motivated violence.
