Erbil to Host Iraq Women’s Volleyball Championship Finals
Six teams will compete in Erbil's August 25-29 tournament, including defending champions Qaraqosh. Matches will be held at Akad Ankawa Club, featuring three daily games.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Iraqi Volleyball Federation announced on Sunday that Erbil will host the finals of the Iraq Women’s Volleyball Clubs Championship, scheduled to take place at the Akad Ankawa Club hall at the end of August.
Federation President Habib Ali al-Lawandi confirmed that six clubs will compete in the tournament: Akad Ankawa, Sanharib, Amanat Baghdad, Aphrodite, Darbandikhan, and Qaraqosh.
The championship is set to begin on Aug. 25 and conclude on Aug. 29, with the competitions committee scheduling three matches per day over the five-day event.
According to al-Lawandi, the opening day will feature Aphrodite facing Darbandikhan in the first match, followed by Sanharib against Qaraqosh, and finally Akad Ankawa taking on Amanat Baghdad.
Qaraqosh Club most recently claimed the title in the Iraq Girls’ Volleyball League, held at the Solaf Club hall in Kirkuk province in July.
