ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iraqi Parliament Deputy Speaker Shakhawan Abdullah stated during a press conference on Sunday that the committees formed to address the issues between Erbil and Baghdad will focus on two main topics: oil and non-oil revenues.
“Despite the passage of the law to annul the decisions of the Supreme Council of the Ba'ath Revolution, the government has not implemented it as required. Today, the Iraqi Prime Minister sent a letter to the relevant parties to enforce the parliamentary decision,” he said.
Regarding the agreement on public employee salaries in the Kurdistan Region, Abdullah noted: "They will reach an agreement; it will be based on the actual situation of oil production and domestic revenue.”
He reiterated that the committees formed to discuss the Erbil-Baghdad issues will address both oil and non-oil revenues. He mentioned that the two sides have reached a consensus on the oil issue and are in the final stages of negotiation.
