Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Forces Arrest 11 ISIS Militants in Nationwide Operations
Counter-terrorism units captured suspects in Nineveh, Kirkuk, Sulaimani and Salahaddin, destroying 13 hideouts and tunnels. Airstrikes leveled 7 ISIS sites in coordinated operations with Kurdistan Region’s Security Directorate.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Forces announced on Tuesday that its forces have captured 11 ISIS militants in a series of coordinated operations across several provinces, alongside the destruction of tunnels, hideouts, and fortified caves used by the group.
In a statement, the service confirmed that five ISIS members were apprehended in Nineveh province during a targeted operation. Acting on intelligence tips, another four militants were arrested in separate areas of Kirkuk province.
Working in coordination with the Kurdistan Region’s Security Service Operations Directorate, counter-terrorism units detained one ISIS operative in Sulaimani province and another in Salahaddin province.
The statement highlighted that with the support of Iraqi Air Force warplanes, seven hideouts in Nineveh were destroyed. In another search-and-clear operation, forces located and demolished three hideouts, three tunnels, and a cave that had been prepared for detonation.
Within the framework of joint coordination with the Kurdistan Region’s Security Directorate, counter-terrorism units uncovered 13 hideouts and tunnels belonging to ISIS militants in Salahaddin, seizing various types of explosives before safely detonating several mines and explosive devices in the province.
Additionally, in Kirkuk province, security forces cleared several buildings, dismantling four hideouts and three tunnels linked to ISIS cells.
