ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Erbil Residency Directorate has inaugurated two new facilities for its visitors – a dedicated children’s area and a library – in a move aimed at making the waiting period more pleasant for those completing administrative procedures.

Speaking to Kurdistan24 on Wednesday, the General Director of Erbil Residency, Kamel Mohammed, emphasized the importance of providing a suitable environment for children while their parents complete their paperwork, some of which can take up to three hours. He noted that such initiatives help instill in children a correct understanding of the role of police and security forces.

Mohammed explained that the newly established children’s area is accompanied by a dedicated library, offering significant benefits, particularly for foreign visitors.

Bovan Al-Zeker, Director of the Dutch charitable organization NTHK, told Kurdistan24: “We strive to ensure that children have an enjoyable time here.”

He added, “We have other projects in the fields of education and health, and we hope this first step will be successful and followed by further initiatives.”

The two facilities were created by the Dutch NTHK organization, with funding from private investors to support children’s health and well-being. The initiative is part of broader plans to implement additional projects and activities in the Kurdistan Region.

This step aligns with government efforts to expand services within official institutions, ensuring smoother processing of citizens’ transactions while improving the overall experience for visitors.
